Hearing loss or hearing impairment is one of the most common afflictions suffered by workers in high-volume working environments. Construction zones, airports and manufacturing plants are examples of workplaces where sounds levels can easily exceed safe noise levels. 

According to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1270, workplaces with noise levels over 80 dB should provide their employees with appropriate protective equipment. Although a noise level survey is necessary to determine the extent of the noise level hazard, common signs of a noise problem in the workplace include:

• Humming or ringing in the ears after leaving the workplace
• Needing to shout to communicate with people nearby
• Suffering temporary hearing loss after leaving the workplace

Our Protective Equipment

The Australian Standard AS/NZS 1270 establishes a class system to categorise noise protection depending on the exposure level. The standard rates hearing protection into five classes, with Class 1 being the lowest level of protection and Class 5 being the highest level.

Class 2 Equipment

The Class 2 ProBand Headband provides protection for noise levels to 95dB in a comfortable and convenient form factor. The earbuds are disposable and not meant to be re-used. 

Class 4 Equipment

The Class 4 Rated ProBand Fixed Headband Earplugs protects against noise levels up to 109dB. They are ideal for those moving in and out of high noise areas, who need to keep their equipment close by without misplacing the earplugs. 

Class 5 Equipment

We offer a variety of class 5 rated equipment that protects against noise levels up to 110dB. Our stock includes disposable earbuds, as well as reusable earmuffs that provide extra comfort for long-term wear.
