Disposable Respirator Face Masks

General purpose disposable respirators are designed to be worn over the mouth and nose once and then thrown away. Once taken off, these masks should not be reused since doing so could result in hazardous particles that were filtered during initial use being transferred onto other surfaces.

Depending on their filter rating, disposable respirators provide protection against mechanically, thermally generated particles, such as sawdust and welding fumes, as well as biologically active particles like bacteria or viruses.

P1 Rated Masks

P1 rated masks provide protection against relatively large particles, like those produced by mechanical processes, such as grinding, cutting, or drilling. These masks filter up to 80% of airborne particles.

P2 Rated Masks

P2 Rated masks provide protection against mechanically generated particles as well as thermally generated particles, such as welding fumes.

P2 Rated masks also provide protection against biologically active particles, such as the current pandemic.

Respirators With Exhalation Valves

Disposable respirators with exhalation valves can be used to protect the wearer in environments with dangerous airborne particles, such as construction zones and manufacturing plants.

The valve closes automatically when the wearer breathes in to prevent exposure. When the wearer breathes out, the valve opens to keep the wearer cool and refreshed. Since the wearer's breath is not filtered on the way out, these are not suitable to prevent the transmission of biologically active particles.
