The PRO Choice Safety Gear range of eye and face protection (PPE) includes safety glasses, safety goggles, face shields and browguards.

They have also worked hard to ensure their products are compatible and configurable for use in conjunction with other PRO Choice products such as ear muffs and hard hats.

Safety Glasses

PRO Choice has designed, tested and certified a wide range of medium impact safety glasses that exceed AS/NZS 1337.1/2010. The glasses come in a variety of colours, features, designs, styles and tints.

Safety Goggles

PRO Choice safety goggles are the ideal choice for when your eyes require all-round protection. PRO Choice safety goggles are certified medium impact safety glasses that exceed AS/NZS 1337.1/2010.

Vadar Goggle and Faceshield

The Vadar range of goggles and face shields is designed to provide medium impact industrial face protection, while the Striker face shield range provides high impact protection.

The Vadar goggles and face shield can be worn as a unit or the goggles can detach and be worn separately if you do not require the protection of a full face mask.

The goggles and face shield are anti-scratch with an anti-fog coating on all lenses. The goggles are available in either a clear or smoke lens.

The PRO Choice Vadar goggles and face shields are certified to AS/NZS 1337.1:2010.

Striker Face Shield and Accessories

PRO Choice has designed and developed the Striker face shield and accessories collection to provide extra high impact industrial face protection. 

The Striker range is precision built to withstand impact from objects up to 190 metres per second (684 km/h).

The Striker range of face shields comes in an array of different configurations. They can be customised to fit hearing protection aids and hard hats whilst still maintaining the full level of face protection.

The PRO Choice Striker face shields are available in an anti-fog polycarbonate lens in both clear and smoke. They are tested to AS/NZS 1337.1:2010.  There is also a stainless steel mesh visor which works well when brush cutting. This is tested to EN1731.

The browguards for these visors come with either an internal harness for wearing around your head or they can clip into your hard hat slots.

Do I Have to Wear Face or Eye Protection?

Hopefully this isn’t something you’ll ever hear from any of your team members. If it does come up, highlighting the risks of not using eye and face protection (PPE) should sway them in the right direction.

During the National Eye Health Initiative of 2006-2010, the most common diagnosis for eye related injury compensation claims in Australia was from a foreign body on the external eye.

Industrial related eye injuries are commonly caused by chemical splashes, metal or plastic debris hitting the eye. Tools accidentally striking the face and improper use of equipment are also common occurrences.

Why Is Eye Protection So Important?

Legislation decrees that approved safety glasses or other types of eye protection must be worn in a wide variety of workplace environments.

Statistics show that despite such requirements in Australia, 51,778 people were hospitalised due to eye injuries between 2010 and 2015.
